The skiing region Helm, as the largest one in the “Land of the Drei Zinnen”, is a member of the skiing centre Hochpustertal and therefore a partner of the world’s biggest skiing association, which is called Dolomiti Superski.
Two modern ascending systems (6-person cabin ski lift and panorama cabin ski lift) bring the winter sport fans to the skiing region, which is situated at 2,000 m. A 4-person chairlift as well as a 3-person and two 2-person chairlifts bring the skiers uphill easily. Additionally there are also 3 drag lifts to make people able to get uphill and enjoy skiing.
All of this can be reached directly from the hotel! The cabin ski lift is only 150m away from the hotel - it can be easily accessed by foot or with our shuttle service, which leaves directly in front of the hotel!
This proves that the Helm is “the” family friendly skiing paradise in the “Land of the Drei Zinnen”. Dreamlike ski slopes of all difficulties stretch from 2,200 m above sea level to the valley.
The experienced skier is able to choose from 3 big valley runs. The show-piece is the new spectacular Rautpiste (slope) (3.8 km) – a valley run which is categorized as black since the middle section and which is also referred as “Direttissima" because of its aggressive routing to the valley station of Vierschach. “Little skiers” and skiing beginners make their first attempts on skis at the flat Wiesenlift (chairlift) and Rautlift (chairlift) under the supervision of a state-qualified skiing teacher.
The ski slopes around the Helm-plateau (2,050 m) could not be any more diversified: Broad ski slopes provide enough room for snow boarders and carvers. The Helm lift provides the best snow conditions until late afternoon, especially for skiing in spring.
Not only the slopes at the beginners lift, but also the ones which lead to the middle station and those at the Hahnspiellift (chairlift) are particularly sun-blessed. From there, a very beautiful sunny slope (black slope) stretches downhill to the mountain meadows next to the Lärchenhütte (mountain cabin).
From there, the downhill slope goes by the Negerdorf to the selective Kristlerhang, before the circle closes again at the valley station of the Helm cable car in Sexten.
The downhill slope to Vierschach, which is the longest slope with its length of almost 5 km, still cuts a brilliant figure. It was the downhill slope at the Helm at the time the skiing region was opened 30 years ago.
